bat survey cardiff

We are a highly experienced ecological consultancy specialising in bat surveys based in Cardiff.

If you require a bat survey as part of a planning application we can help ensure that your development has a smooth passage through planning.

Bat Surveys

Bat roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats & Species Regulations 2017.

The objective of the bat survey is to:

  • Establish the presence / likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings,
  • Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting foraging routes, and
  • Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

Our ecologists are experienced in bat survey, European Protected Species licensing, and mitigation design and implementation.

We regularly undertake bat surveys across Cardiff.

In North Cardiff, we have undertaken bat surveys in Tongwynlais, Whitchurch, Lisvane, Thornhill, Rhiwbina, Heath, Birchgrove, Gabalfa, Llandaff North, Llanishen, and Cyncoed.

In South Cardiff, we have undertaken bat surveys in Adamsdown, Butetown, Cardiff Bay, Grangetown, Plasnewydd, Riverside and Splott.

In East Cardiff, we have undertaken bat surveys in Llanedeyrn, Llanrumney, Pentwyn, Penylan, Pontprennau, Roath, Rumney, St Mellons, Old St Mellons, Tremorfa and Trowbridge.
