Acer Ecology was commissioned to carry out a bat survey of a cottage in Penhow, Caldicot within Newport City Council, South Wales.
Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017 and the Wildlife and Countryside Act. Bat surveys aim to establish: The presence or likely absence of the bat roosts within buildings and trees; Identify the activity of bats across the site including key commuting and foraging routes, and Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.
