Bat Survey Brecon Beacons

We were commissioned to carry out a bat survey of a barn in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Mid Wales. The building was proposed for conversion to provide living accommodation.

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017, bats and their roosts are fully protected in the UK. This means your may be asked to have a bat survey done by your local planning authority.

A bat survey will establish the presence or likely absence of bat roosts within buildings and trees, and identify bat activity (including key commuting and foraging routes), which then allows appropriate mitigation and enhancement measures to be recommended where required.

Our ecologists are experienced in bat survey, European Protected Species licensing, and mitigation design and implementation. We cover the Brecon Beacons National Park and the surrounding area. We also have the capacity to conduct surveys in the neighbouring counties of Powys, including Monmouthsire, the Valleys, Neath, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
