We were commissioned to carry out a bat survey of a church in Porthkerry, Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales in advance of building work.
We have undertaken numerous surveys of bats in the Vale of Glamorgan including sites in Lavernock, Llanbethery, Llancadle, Llancarfan, and Llandough. Our ecologists are also able to undertake projects across South Wales and the surrounding areas.
All bats and their roosts are fully protected.
This is because of The Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. As such, you may be asked by your local authority for a bat survey. This will: establish the presence or likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings and to identify the activity of bats across the site including key commuting and foraging routes. As a result of this appropriate ecological mitigation and enhancement can be recommended where required.
Our ecologists are experienced in bat survey, European Protected Species licensing, and mitigation design and implementation.
