Dates: 4-week self-study distane-learening course
Our ever popular Phase 1 Habitat and UK Hab Survey course introduces participants to the Phase 1 & UK Hab survey methodologies to classify habitats. The course will be run as a combination of the following:
- Series of pre-recorded videos
- Self-organised phase 1 habitat or UK Hab survey of site local to the participant
The course content will include the following elements:
- Introduction to phase 1 habitat & UK HAB surveys
- Phase 1 habitats
- Terrestrial invasive plant species
- In-depth look at indicator species of a range of common habitats (grasslands, ruderal, and ephemeral and short perennial habitats)
- Protected species surveys and Local Records Centre (LRC) searches undertaken as part of Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs)
- Phase 1 reporting
- Phase 1 mapping using QGIS
- The course will cost £60.00 inclusive of VAT.
- A certificate of attendance is available on request.
