The course is designed for professional or amateur bat surveyors who would like to learn how to undertake bat detector surveys or improve their bat surveying skills. The course will include indoor and outdoor sessions where participants will be taught how to undertake an evening bat survey, identify bat calls in the field and how to use different ultrasound equipment.
Participants will gain skills and experience in:
- Survey methods
- Species identification
- Using and gaining an understanding of different bat detectors
Items to bring:
- Appropriate footwear and clothing for outdoors.
- Torch.
- Notepad/writing equipment (optional).
Course Booking
- The course costs £15.00 per person inclusive of VAT.
- Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
- The course will be partly field based and so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
- All attendees will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
- The course will be run by Acer Ecology staff in our Cardiff Bay office.
- The course will run between 7.00pm until 10.30pm.
