This one day, entirely field-based course provides a basic introduction to working with freshwater crayfish, including licensing.
The course will commence with introduction to freshwater crayfish, including key identification of species and growth stages and biosecurity. This will be followed by a field session, looking at stream surveys and monitoring, including practical handling experience. The course will be supported by at extensive survey/ecology pack.

- Physical environment survey;
- Habitat management;
