We were commissioned to carry out a bat survey of a parish hall in Twyn Garnant, Carmarthenshire. The building was proposed for demolition prior to the construction of a new dwelling. Identifying the potential for bats at an early stage in the planning process is vital in order to avoid time delays further down the line.
Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.
If part of your planning application requires a bat survey then we can help ensure that your development passes smoothly through this process.
The objective of a bat survey is to:
- Establish the presence / likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings;
- Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes; and
- Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.
Our ecologists are experienced in bat surveying, European Protected Species licensing, mitigation design and implementation and supervision of works. We can provide our services across Carmarthenshire including Laugharne, Llandovery, Llanelli, Llanybydder, Carmarthen and St Clears.
