bat survey treforest pontypridd

Acer Ecology was commissioned to carry out a bat survey of a former coach house on Tower Street, Treforest, Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taff. Although no evidence of bats was recorded within the building, several potential roost sites were recorded. The building was therefore considered to have a degree of bat roost potential, and we subsequently carried out a further activity. The results of this enabled us to work alongside our client to ensure that their project progressed smoothly through the planning process.

Does your planning application need a bat survey?

Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017, bats and their roosts are fully protected in the UK. As a result of this, your local planning authority may ask you to have a bat survey done.

A bat survey will establish the presence or likely absence of bat roosts within trees and buildings, and identify bat activity (including key commuting and foraging routes).

Our ecologists are experienced in bat survey, European Protected Species licensing, and mitigation design and implementation. From our office in Cardiff, we are well placed to serve Rhondda Cynon Taff and the surrounding area including Merthyr Tydfil, Caerphilly, Bridgend, and Neath Port Talbot.
