Bat Survey

Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.

If part of your planning application requires a bat survey then we can help ensure that your development passes smoothly through this process.

We are experienced and an expanding ecological consultancy, specialising in bat surveys. Our ecologists are experienced in bat surveying, European Protected Species licensing, mitigation design and implementation and supervision of works.

The objective of a bat survey is to:

  • Establish the presence or likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings; and
  • Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes;

Our ecologists then use this information to recommend appropriate ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

We are well placed to undertake bat surveys in Swindon and the wider county of Wiltshire, including Royal Wootton Bassett, Marlborough, Chippenham, Devizes, Salisbury, Tidworth and Melksham. We are also able to serve the surrounding counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Dorset and Somerset.
