bat survey

Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. Therefore, some planning applications require a bat survey.

Bat surveys aim to:

  • Establish the presence/ likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings;
  • Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes; and
  • Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

Here at Acer Ecology, our fully licensed ecologists are experienced in bat surveys, European Protected Species licensing, mitigation design and implementation and supervision of works.

We have carried out numerous bat surveys across Monmouth and the surrounding areas.

We are well placed to undertake bat surveys in and across Monmouth and the county of Gwent, including Dixton, Berry Hil, Coleford, Rockfield, Dingestow and Raglan.
