Acer Ecology were commissioned to carry out a bat survey of barn in Llanfair Kilgeddin, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulation 2017, bats and their roosts are fully protected. You may be asked by your local planning authority to undertake bat surveys as a result of this.
Bat surveys aim to:
- Establish the presence or the likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings;
- Identify the activity of bats across the site;
- Identify key commuting and foraging routes; and
- Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.
Our fully licensed ecologists are experienced in bat surveying, European Protected Species licensing, and mitigation design and implementation. Acer Ecology are able to cover Monmouthshire and the entire South Wales region.
