Bat Survey Dorchester

We recently carried out a bat survey of an old barn near Dorchester.

A high number of bat droppings were recorded within the building, and further activity surveys were subsequently recommended to ensure that our client’s project progressed smoothly and legally through the planning process. The project progressed smoothly through the planning process.

Failure to identify the presence of bats at an early stage can lead to timely and costly delays further down the line.

Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. The objective of a bat survey is to: Establish the presence / likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings; Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes; and Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required. Our fully licensed ecologists are experienced in bat survey, European Protected Species licensing, mitigation design and implementation and supervision of works.

We are an experienced and expanding ecological consultancy specialising in bat surveys. We are able to undertake bat surveys in Dorset, such as the areas of Puddletown, Cerne Abbas, Gillingham, Abbotsbury and Weymouth. We are able to provide a quote to potential clients on a case by case basis.
