Acer Ecology’s fully-licensed ecologists are experienced in conducting preliminary ecological appraisals. We have professional ecologists well-placed to provide these services at a competitive rate in Newcastle and the surrounding areas.
Previously, we have worked in Boldon, Gateshead, Low Fell, Washington, Kibblesworth, Whickham, Blaydon, Dunston, Gosforth, Wallsend, Benton, Longbenton, North Shields, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, Monkseaton, Killingworth, Shiremoor, Dinnington, Woolsington, Callerton, and Ponteland.
We are also able to carry out surveys in nearby areas such as Hartlepool, Middlesborough, Yarm, Darlington, Northumberland, and Teeside.
The preliminary ecological appraisal identifies habitats on site which may be of value to protected species, from which further specialist surveys may be recommended for particular species. They also assess the impacts of a proposed development on these protected species and habitats. Alternative names for Preliminary Ecological Appraisal include the Extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey, a Baseline ecological survey, Phase 1 Survey, Ecological Constraints Survey, Ecological Site Assessment, Ecological Site Appraisal, Ecological Scoping Survey and Ecological Site Walkover Survey. Local authorities will often use these terms interchangeably.
If your planning development is in need of an ecological survey, or for more information about any of the ecological services that we provide, please call us on 02920 650331, or email us at enquiries@acerecology.co.uk.
