We regularly undertake ecological surveys across Devon.
Most recently, Acer Ecology’s licensed ecologists carried out extended Phase 1 habitat Survey (Preliminary Ecological Appraisal) near Barnstaple in North Devon. We recently surveyed an agricultural site that backed on to a broadleaved woodland copse. While on-site, our ecologists were able to map the habitats present within the site and identify any potential ecological impacts that may arise. None of the woodlands was proposed for clearance, but indirect impacts could potentially have occurred to foraging bats utilising the linear feature created by the woodland edge. We were then able to work alongside our client to develop a mitigation strategy to avoid this potentially illegal activity.
We are well placed to carry out Phase 1 surveys, and other ecological surveys, in Barnstaple and the surrounding areas of North Devon, including Lynton, Ilfracombe, Bideford, Hartland, Holsworthy, Okehampton, Chulmleigh, South Molton, Tiverton and Exmoor. We also have the capacity to serve the surrounding counties of Somerset and Dorset.
