Bat Survey Yeovil

Acer Ecology recently carried out a bat survey of a property that was proposed for redevelopment near Yeovil.

The building was considered to have a high potential for use as a bat roost, and a low number of droppings were recorded during the initial scoping survey. Subsequent dusk emergence and dawn re-entry survey confirmed that the building was being used by low numbers of common pipistrelle and myotis species.

We are an experienced and expanding ecological consultancy specialising in bat surveys. If part of your planning application requires a bat survey, then we can help ensure that your development passes smoothly through this process.

Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. The objective of a bat survey is to: Establish the presence / likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings; Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes; and Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

Our ecologists are experienced in bat surveying, European Protected Species licensing, mitigation design and implementation, and supervision of works.

We regularly undertake bat surveys in Somerset in Yeovil and the surrounding area, including Sherborne, Bridport, Martock, Sparkford and Templecombe. We have the capacity to undertake bat surveys and the surrounding counties of Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Devon. We are able to provide a competitive quote to potential clients on a case by case basis.
