We are an experienced and expanding ecological consultancy specialising in bat surveys.
We recently undertook a bat scoping survey at a large Victorian villa in Richmond, London. A large number of droppings were recorded within the loft void, as well as a single Nathusius’s pipistrelle bat on one of the timber purlins. We worked alongside our client to ensure a pragmatic solution that worked both for them and the wildlife.
Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.
The objective of a bat survey is to:
- Establish the presence/ likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings;
- Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes; and
- Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.
Our ecologists are well placed to undertake bat surveys throughout London, including Barnes, Castelnau, Sheen, Twickenham, Fulwell, Ham, Hampton, Kew, Mortlake, Petersham, Richmond, St Margarets, Teddington and Whitton. We can also serve the surrounding boroughs of Kingston, Merton, Wandsworth, Sutton, Richmond, Hounslow, Ealing and Hillingdon.
If part of your planning application requires a bat survey then we can help ensure that your development passes smoothly through this process. We are able to provide a competitive quote to potential clients on a case by case basis.
