We were commissioned to carry out a bat survey of a church in Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales in advance of building works.
We have completed bat surveys in a number of sites in the Vale of Glamorgan including sites in Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, Aberthaw, Aberthin, Bonvilston, and Boverton. We are able to take on projects across the Vale of Glamorgan and the South Wales region.
Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.
As such, local planning authorities may ask for a bat survey to be undertaken. The objective of a bat survey is to: Establish the presence / likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings; Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes; and Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required. Our ecologists are experienced in bat survey, European Protected Species licensing, mitigation design and implementation and supervision of works.
