Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act as well as the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. Bat surveys are conducted to establish:
- If bats are roosting within buildings or trees;
- Identify bat activity within the site including key commuting and foraging routes; and
- What ecological mitigation and enhancement measures are required.
Does your planning application need a bat survey?
Acer Ecology is an experienced ecological consultancy which specialises in undertaking bat surveys. We can help guide your project through the planning process, from survey design, implementation, mitigation and licensing.
Identifying ecological constraints early in the planning process has proven to be both cost effective and time saving.
We have the capacity to undertake surveys in and around Chulmleigh including: Tiverton, Crediton, Okehampton, Great Torrington, Chittlehampton and the wider area of Devon. We can also undertake surveys in the surrounding counties of Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Bristol.
