We were commissioned to carry out a bat survey of a building in Gilfach, near Bargoed and Caerphilly in South Wales. The building was proposed for demolition prior to the construction of a new dwelling.
Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. Your local authority may ask you to have a bat survey done as a result of this legislation.
Our fully licensed ecologists will establish the presence / likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings, identify the activity of bats across the site including key commuting and foraging routes and using this information, they will recommend appropriate ecological mitigation and enhancement where required. We regularly survey across Caerphilly and South Wales from our Cardiff office.
