Long-eared bat

We are a highly experienced ecological consultancy specialising in bat and ecology surveys in the North East, particularly within Northumberland and the Tyne Valley.

We are well placed to conduct surveys in the North East and the surrounding areas, in locations such as Sunderland, Roker, Boldon, Washington, Cleadon, Whitburn, Silksworth, Hendon, Ryhope, Houghton le Spring, Hetton-le-Hole, Easington Lane, and in nearby areas such as Seaham and Chester-le-Street. We also have the capacity to offer our services in the Scottish Borders and into Cumbria.

If you require a bat survey as part of a planning application, we can help ensure that your development has a smooth passage through planning. Bat roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats & Species Regulations 2017.

The objective of the bat survey is to:

  • Establish the presence / likely absence of any bat roosts within trees and buildings
  • Identify the activity of bats across the site and identify key commuting and foraging routes.
  • Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

Our ecologists are experienced in undertaking bat surveys, European Protected Species licensing, and mitigation design and implementation.

If you require a bat or ecology survey for your planning application, residential development of building project such as road or other infrastructure, it can save both time and money to identify ecological constraints early during the planning process.

We work with a range of businesses and individuals, including homeowners and landlords developing their own property, as well as working within different industries, including house builders, engineers, planning consultants, architects, road and rail, energy, statutory bodies, schools and more. We are able to provide potential clients with a competitive quote tailored to their specific project.
