This online course which runs over two mornings introduces the use of QGIS (an Open Source Geographic Information System (GIS)) and will explain how QGIS software can be used to undertake a range of ecological mapping functions.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, you should be able to draw a UK Habs and phase 1habitat map and use QGIS to undertake a range of other mapping tasks including use of the NE QGIS biodiversity net gain files.
Course Content
The course will include the following elements:
- Initial Setup of QGIS;
- Plugins;
- Raster and Vector Files;
- Main Controls;
- Drawing Polgons, Line and Point Files;
- Phase 1 & UK Habs Pallettes & Categorised Styling;
- Buffers;
- Use of NE QGIS biodiversity net gain files; and
- Using Print Composer.
