Bat Survey Tewkesbury

Acer Ecology has recently undertaken surveys for bats in Tewkesbury on a building proposed for development. We regularly undertake surveys in the surrounding area, such as Twyning, Ashchurch, Stoke Orchard, Deerhurst and Bushley. We have the capacity to take on surveys throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties of Monmouthshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Bristol, Wiltshire and Somerset.

Have you been advised to do a bat survey by your local planning authority?

Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. Therefore, you may be asked to undertake a bat survey.

The objective of a bat survey is to:

1. Establish the presence/ likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings;

2. Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes;

3. Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

Identifying ecological constraints early in the planning process has proven to be both cost-effective and time-saving in the long run. Our staff can help ensure your development passes through the planning process smoothly. We are able to provide a competitive quote to potential clients on a case by case basis.
