Bat Survey

Acer Ecology is an ecological consultancy specialising in undertaking bat surveys. Our fully licensed ecologists regularly undertake bat surveys in and around Stroud. We can help guide your project through the planning process, from survey design, through to implementation, mitigation and licensing.

The objective of a bat survey is to:

  1. Establish the presence/ likely absence of the bat roosts within trees and buildings;
  2. Identify the activity of bats across the site and key commuting and foraging routes;
  3. Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017.

We are able to undertake bat surveys in and around Stroud and the wider area of Gloucestershire including Nailsworth, Bowbridge, South Woodchester, Ebley, Brimscombe, Stonehouse and Eastcomb . We also have the capacity to conduct surveys in the surrounding counties including Herefordshire, Monmouthshire, Bristol, Somerset,  Oxfordshire,  Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
