Bats and their roosts are fully protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010. As such, local planning authorities may ask for a bat survey to be undertaken. It is both cost effective and time saving to identify ecological constraints early on during the planning process.
Our staff at Acer Ecology are fully licensed ecologists who are experienced in undertaking bat surveys. We can work with you to help guide your project smoothly through the planning process.
Bat surveys help to establish if a bat roost is present, or is likely absent from buildings and trees. Bat activity, including key commuting and foraging routes, are also identified. The results help us to recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement measures where required.
Have you been advised to do a bat survey?
Acer Ecology has undertaken bat surveys in Newton Abbott and the surrounding area of Devon, such as Bishopsteignton, Teignmouth, Torquay, Paignton and Chudleigh. Our offices locations also allow us to have the capacity to conduct surveys in the surrounding counties, including Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Bristol.
We are able to provide a competitive quote to potential clients on a case by case basis.
