Ecology Training Courses at Acer Ecology
Acer Ecology offer a range of short, one-day training courses for the ecology professional or the keen amateur naturalist.
Courses are taught by our professional ecologists or by local experts and we aim to provide the learner with industry-standard skills at an affordable cost.

- Fern identification
- British Amphibians
- Bird identification
- Moth Identification
- Invasive Species
We also run professional Bat Ecology courses for Swansea University and teach on the Invasive and Non-Native Fauna course for the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
Course Booking
- Courses cost £60 per person.
- A discounted rate of £40 is avilable for full time students, pensioners or the unemployed.
- Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided – please bring your own packed lunch.
- The courses will be partly field based and so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
- All attendees will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
- Discounts are avilable for booking multiple courses. Please contact us for details.
- The courses (except Bird Identification) are held at Wenvoe Community Centre, Wenvoe, CF5 6AL.
- The Bird Identification course will be held at Bute Park, Cardiff, CF10 3DX.
